The Vandoren Optimum ligature is ideal for any saxophone player. Whether it is classical or jazz or anything in between the optimums 3 interchangeable pressure plates are designed to suit your needs. The ligature also features quick and precise tightening. The saxophone models have a gold plated finish.

Plate #1 provides pressure along the fibers of the reeds to facilitate blowing ease. This also help to create a rich and colorful sonority, resonance, and ease of articulation.

Plate #2 provides pressure along two lines at the top and bottom of the plate. This give the player a more compact and center sonority along with a smooth even sound and blowing ease.

Plate #3 provides pressure on 4 point on the corners of the plate. This plate gives the reed the most freedom to vibrate which translates into a very flexible sound and ease of expression.
